Wizard of Time

Wizard of Time is about restoring items that were lost out of time back to their timeline before it messes up the future timelines.  The Wizard of Time needs help stealing and returning Excalibur to King Arthur.  There are only a handful of people that have the ability to travel time lines so he has to search across all of time to find the perfect three.  Josh, Meri and Digger join the Wizard of Time to steal Excalibur from the Bards and return it.  However, when they do, something happens to the Wizard’s lady love and her timeline is erased.  Was returning the sword the catalyst for that disaster or were there other elements interfering with time?

Join the trio as they go back in time, meet dragons, get in sword fights, maybe find love but certainly do their best to stay out of trouble while doing the job the Wizard needed doing.

I’ve put this in the YA Fantasy genre but its written in the same style as Harry Potter books and should appeal to those of you who are young at heart.  Its a great read and one that will make you think about what happens to things when history is done with them.

Josh, Companion to Wizard of Time

Josh is the story of a young man destined for greatness, but he doesn’t know it nor does he care.  Most of his life to date has been spent alone.  He has no close friends nor family.

Written as a companion to Wizard of Time, Josh allows the reader to get to know the teenager behind the man that becomes the Guide.  As a bonus, the first few pages of Wizard is included in this story.

Defender of Time

The Wizard of Time trio reunites to get Gertie’s timeline restored.  Guinevere, Queen of Briton must forsake her husband and crown and fall in love with Lancelot, producing Jennifer, Gertie’s Great something grandmother.  An enchanted mirror holds the secret but how to get it back to Guinevere to unite it with the necklace without arousing suspicion?

Their first attempt proves disastrous.  Meri gets kidnapped and taken far away from Josh, Digger and all she knows.  Her magic limits are tested and she’s presented with a shocking ultimatum.   Die or change history with unforeseeable results.   How can she do either?

Beginning with Audra’s story, follow Gertie’s timeline and Meri’s exploits, continue traveling with the trio until they can re-write the history someone else changed.  But chasing history is not an easy or one sided journey.  When they get back, they find the Wizard of Time is gone and there’s no one watching history anymore.  He’s forgotten who he is.  Can they persuade him to leave his loving wife and take up the chase again?

I’m often asked how I come up with the reviews I do. As far as reviewing goes, here’s how I operate …  No, I don’t just ‘hire’ anyone to do reviews. When doing guest reviewers, if someone says they are interested I sit with them and find out their philosophy surrounding reviews. I look at what they have done in the past and at the genre’s they are familiar with. As long as it doesn’t go against my ‘rules’ then I let them do a few. Everything goes by me though.

As far as I’m concerned, there are no bad reviews. If I can’t find something nice to say about a book, I simply don’t review it. Writers work too hard to be told their writing is crap without some kind of positive, constructive feedback. I read a lot and have experience in quite a few genres so I feel that, as a reader, I have plenty of background with which to compare. And finally, I make sure first and foremost people understand it is my opinion based on my own prejudges and my own beliefs. If they are accepting of that, they get a review. If not, I have plenty of people that are begging for my reviews.

I don’t do in-depth reviews. I have compared the two and feel that there isn’t much more that can be said in a review lasting pages long than in a few short sentences that convey the gist of what is good or bad about a novel. I don’t see a reason to keep harping on the same issues for days. Short and to the point. I figure if people are desperate/stupid enough to want my opinion, they get what they ask for!!! Most are pleased with what I give them and I give honesty, not feather ruffles/smoothing.

Sorry. That’s probably way more than you wanted to know about my review process. I always read the full book. Some reviewers read the first 3 chapters and the last chapter. That’s crap. If the writer writes a book be respectful of that and read the full book. There have been a few books I simply couldn’t get through and I emailed the author directly and told them the truth of why. I didn’t however, do reviews on them.

I enjoy reviewing. It gives me a chance to get to the know the author a bit more and to read books I wouldn’t normally read. Most of them, though, I probably would have read anyway!
