Something a little different this week . . . Helmy Kusuma of Indie Writer’s Unite talking about his book, Mementoes of Mai:
Can you tell us a little bit about your book?
Mementoes of Mai is a fictious story, sort of, about my decision to become a writer. I was an IT worker for about a decade when clouds parted, God peered and said “You have been wasting your words, moron. Save them into books!”
Being the good man I am, I concurred.
What about this story made you have to write it?
Do you want me to blaspheme?
What was one of the most surprising things you learned during the creation of this book?
That Providence do peer once in awhile from the clouds, the sun, the moon, the earth…
What was the hardest part to write?
The beginning. I cried like a baby *sniff.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Reading, eating, fooling around…well, basically enjoying life.
Can you share a little of what you are working on now?
Of course! I am finishing my short story, a science fiction thriller, There Is Hope. It is about science. It is fiction. And it is a thriller.
There, I said too much.
What advice would you give a new writer?
Buy Mementoes of Mai and you would be a successful new writer. Buy ten copies and be even more successful.
